Increase Your Home’s Value (and Curb Appeal) with Designer Furniture

Look into your bedroom and tell me if that furniture is the reflection of the hard working, 21st century girl that you are? Chances are that the answer, if we are being completely truthful with ourselves, is no. That old furniture set that your Aunt Dorothy gave you fresh out of college simply isn’t going to cut it anymore. As much as you have denied it, it is time for a fresh bedroom set. NYC can’t handle anymore of this; In fact, next time you hear sirens, it is probably Heidi Klum and the fashion police coming to take you and your furniture away.

Now that we’re all adults, the feelings that your bedroom gives you is more important than ever. After a stressful day of work, or shopping, you need to relax in a bedroom that gives you feelings of solace, peace and, most importantly, reeks of your personality. You need to sink into a soft, form-conforming foam mattress that is settled into a box bed set of your loved shades and materials. Don’t settle for less than furniture that tells the world who you are, how you feel and how you like to relax.

Consult a decorator if you have to, or do some simple research online to get an idea of the styles that are accessible in this day and age. You must decide if you like minimalist, contemporary, Baroque, Indian, eclectic, designer or Zen. Try out different displays and decide for yourself what will make you the most comfy in your own home and what colors make you want to relax and which styles speak to you. Remember, a place filled with other people’s tastes is a house and a place filled with your own flair is a home. Make it personal and totally you so that when you have visitors, they really get an idea and an experience of who you are and the kind of individual you want to be.

Also, don’t be fearful to get out of the ordinary. If you have a large bedroom, maybe get a little fantastic. My favorite bedroom that I saw had a sectional sofa. NYC is known for out of the ordinary, and who said that the couch had to stay in the living room anyway? If you put as much thought and fashion into your bedroom as I’d like you to, there is no reason why you shouldn’t show it off and make it the next cozy gathering place in your home.
